Introduction of ARCHICAD
ARCHICAD is an architectural BIM CAD software. ARCHICAD enables architects to model faster and create to model faster and create accurate construction details and estimation of reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and composite beam and columns. ARCHICAD is available in 27 language versions. These versions are not just translations of the same interface, but their architectural content and tool defaults are optimized for the local market.
ARCHICAD is stand-alone software that can be used independently but it is tightly integrated into GRAPHISOFT’s ecosystem including solutions such as BIMcloud and BIMX for efficient and enjoyable work and smooth collaboration in an open BIM workflow with stakeholders of the AEC industry. Even the furniture and other interior elements can be designed using ArchiCAD.
ARCHICAD offers computer-aided solutions for handling all common aspects of aesthetics and engineering during the whole design process of the built environment buildings, interiors, urban areas, etc.
Development of ARCHICAD started in 1982 for the original Apple Macintosh. Following its launch in 1987, with Graphisoft’s “Virtual Building” concept, ARCHICAD became regarded by some as the first implementation of BIM ARCHICAD has been recognized as the first CAD product on a personal computer able to create both 2D and 3D geometry, as well as the first commercial BIM product for personal computers and considered “revolutionary” for the ability to store large amounts of information within the 3D model
